Batesville Bound

So, today we are packing up to go to Batesville, Indiana. Batesville is a great casket company. We sell their products at JFH. Our casket rep is flying us out to see the factory. Up there, we will be staying on a farm. It sounds like it will be a fun adventure, plus we'll be learning more about the products we sell and why they are the best. Who knew I'd ever take a business trip to tour a casket factory! I never dreamed that would be a part of my life. I mean, back in high school when a teacher asks you what you think you'll be doing in 10 years, funeral directing was not even a thought.

I suppose many think it's morosely strange that I would actually enjoy my work at the funeral home. I have to tell you it is bitter-sweet. However, I love helping the grieving families. My job allows me to do one last thing for a person; pay one last tribute to a life. It's not about the death, but the life lived, and how I can do my best to hold a meaningful service where they are honored. It is about treating each family like they are a part of my own. It is about ministering to hurting hearts, and showing the love of Jesus to each person I meet.

I'm so blessed I get to work with my husband. I'm so blessed to be where God has called me to affectively minister to people!
